Third Time's the Charm

When it comes to wedding cakes there are so many options to choose from: cake flavors, icings, layers, fillings, toppers etc.   Another option is to serve three different cakes.  It may seem a bit much, but it could definitely work for your reception.  If you're not having a large reception, you don't have to get large cakes.  Plus, the cakes can vary by flavors and icings as long as they complement each other.  Since most couples decide to get various cakes flavors for a tiered cake, it won't matter if your guests don't receive the same type of cake.

Still wondering if a cake trio is for you?  Here are three ways to incorporate a wedding cake trio into your reception.

1. Serve a traditional tiered cake for guests and give the two smaller cakes to whoever catches the bouquet and garter.

2. Serve a traditional tiered cake for guests and give the two smaller cakes to the mother of the bride and the mother of the groom.

3. Serve three different smaller cakes to all the guests.
