New York Magazine featured four seasonal wedding menus by four different caterers.  Since autumn has arrived what better time to display a menu based on the season?

Pinch Food Design created the amazing menu below to include five signature fall items: chestnuts, sage, Porcini Mushrooms, Yukon Gold Potatoes, and rutabagas.

With the weather getter cooler, it's the perfect time to incorporate a warm dessert into your upcoming wedding reception or event.  Churros are a great option!  They're strips of fried dough seasoned with cinnamon and sugar.  Very common in Latin American countries, churros would make a fabulous addition to themed weddings and/or special events.

Check out four ways to serve churros at your special event and the happy couples who served them at their receptions.

Carrie and Jon were married a few years ago and hosted a carnival themed wedding.  The couple opted out of an extravagant wedding for a DIY wedding and it was great!  The entire event was well executed and the details matched perfectly with the theme.

Carrie purchased a lot of things online, including the vintage gumball machine and the clear drink buckets that were filled with colorful Jones sodas and used as table centerpieces. This couple held their reception in the afternoon, which can drastically decrease a bar bill (people don't typically drink as much during the day.) Below, cupcakes are adorned with the couple’s wedding logo.

Chicken is often selected as a main course for weddings because it is one of the least expensive proteins and because most people enjoy it.  However, don't let chicken become just another boring entrée.  Spruce it up by serving it like any of the entrees below.

This is one of the cutest baking engagement sessions ever!  Matthew Andrews Photography took the gorgeous photos below.  Here's what he had to say about the engagement shoot.

"Bethany and Ryan drove up to Nashville for their engagement portraits and wanted to hit up lots of sites that might be less familiar to their Memphis friends but they also challenged me with a few theme ideas. Apparently Ryan is a great cook so we thought it might be fun to do a little baking and get a little crazy with the flour so we reserved an hour at Viking Kitchen at the Factory in Franklin which turned out to be the perfect location!"
